Biodiversitas Mangrove di Kawasan Ekowisata Mangrove di Desa Salahaji, Kecamatan Pematang Jaya Kabupaten Langkat
Mangrove Biodiversity in the Mangrove Ecotourism Area in Salahaji Village, Pematang Jaya District, Langkat Regency
Abstract
Study aims to identify mangrove species diversity in the ecotourism area of Salahaji
Village and analyze its ecotourism potential and contribution to climate change
mitigation. The research methods include field surveys, mangrove vegetation
identification, and environmental parameter measurements. The results indicate
that the area hosts 12 mangrove species, predominantly from the Rhizophoraceae
family. The measured carbon stock values suggest that this ecosystem has
significant potential for carbon sequestration, supporting climate change
mitigation efforts. Additionally, mangrove-based ecotourism development can
serve as a sustainable conservation strategy by engaging the local community.
