Pengaruh Pemberian Pupuk Organik Cair (POC) Daun Gamal dan Pupuk Kandang Ayam Terhadap Pertumbuhan dan Produksi Tanaman Sorgum (Sorghum bicolor L.)

Christian Alepson Tampubolon. The Effect of Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and Chicken Manure on the Growth and Production of Sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L.). Supervised by Dr. Ir. T. Irmansyah MP. Sorghum production in Indonesia remains relatively low, so Indonesia is not included in the list ofsorghum-producing countries worldwide. To achieve good production, plants need nutrients that can stimulate their growth and yield, which can be provided through fertilization, one method is the application of Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) and chicken manure. The research was conducted on Jl. Bunga Sedap Malam XVIII, Sempakata, Medan Selayang District, Medan City, North Sumatra, at an altitude of approximately 35 meters above sea level (masl) from June 2024 to October 2024. The research used a factorial randomized block design (RBD) with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor was the concentration of Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF), consisting of three levels: 0, 200, and 400 ml/L of water. The second factor was the dosage of chicken manure with four levels: 0, 6.5, 13, and 19.5 tons/ha.The application of Gamal Leaf liquid organic fertilizer significantly increased plant height at 2-4 WAP (weeks after planting), leaf count at 2-3 WAP, panicle weight per plot, seed weight per sample, and 1000-seed weight. The application of chicken manure significantly increased plant height at 2–4 WAP, leaf count at 2–3 WAP, panicle weight per plot, seed weight per sample, and 1000-seed weight. There was no significant interaction between Gamal Leaf Liquid Organic Fertilizer and chicken manure on any of the observed parameters.
