This study aimed to optimize the utilization of Palm Kernel Meal (PKM) and Indigofera sp. leaf meal in the diet of KUB (Kampung Unggul Balitbangtan) chickens during the starter phase. The experiment was conducted using 100 day-old KUB chickens divided into five treatments with five replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (control), P1 (4% PKM + 3% Indigofera), P2 (8% PKM + 6% Indigofera), P3 (12% PKM + 9% Indigofera), and P4 (16% PKM + 12% Indigofera). Parameters measured included feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, body weight gain, and feed cost per gain. Results showed that the addition of PKM and Indigofera leaf meal did not significantly affect (P>0.05) feed consumption, feed conversion ratio, and body weight gain. However, there was a consistent decrease in feed cost per gain from P0 to P4, with a reduction of up to 21,7%. In conclusion, the addition of PKM and Indigofera leaf meal in the diet of KUB chickens during the grower phase can improve feed cost efficiency without negatively affecting growth performance.
