ADELIA BALQISH ARIEF SIRAIT (180304081) with the thesis title is
"Analysis of Water Spinach (Ipomoea reptans) Farming and Marketing (Case
Study: Desa Kolam, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang)".
Supervised by ibu Lily Fauzia as the head of the Supervisory Commission and ibu
Sri Fajar Ayu as a member of the Supervisory Commission. The aim of this research
is to analyze the income, feasibility, the influence of production factors, and the
marketing efficiency of water spinach farming. The research location was selected
purposively. The sample in this study consisted of 30 samples. The analysis methods
used were multiple linear regression and descriptive analysis. The results of the
research show that the average income from water spinach farming in the research
area is Rp 3,993,345.89/season, obtained from costs amounting to Rp
1,192,320.78/season and revenue of Rp 5,185,666.67/season. Feasibility analysis
using the R/C ratio method concluded that R/C > 1 (4.35 > 1), thus the farming is
deemed feasible due to the of relatively good income generated from the water
spinach farming. The research results show that simultaneously, the independent
variables have a significant effect on the income of water spinach farming.
Partially, the variables of land area and fertilizer costs have a significant effect on
the income of water spinach farming. The variables that do not have a significant
partial effect on the income of water spinach farming are the seed costs and labor
costs. Based on the processed field data, the marketing efficiency value for channel
I is 0.5%, for channel II is 5.38%, and for channel III is 24.1%.
