The Short Form of the Fonseca Anamnestix Index (SFAI) is an index used to evaluate and screen for temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders, which is concise, clear, and efficient. The SFAI consists of five main questions, which are the main dimensions of the Fonseca Anamnestic Index (FAI). The SFAI outperforms the FAI in detecting TMJ disorders according to current gold standard diagnostic instruments.TMJ disorders are a group of musculoskeletal and neuromuskular conditions that involve the complex TMJ and its surrounding muscles and bones. Although they are not life-threatening, they significantly impact quality of life due to their symptoms, making them challenging to manage and requiring multidisciplinary interventions. Early detection and treatment are crucial to mitigate these effects. The purpose of this study is to investigate the validity and reliability of the Indonesian version of the SFAI, which is based on digital technology. The adaptation and cross cultural translation process was conducted to obtain the Indonesian version of the SFAI. After obtaining the final instrument, the questionnaire will be digitalized using a telemedicine website to facilitate access and use by both respondents and the general public. The study involved distributing the TMJ screening website, which includes the Indonesian version of the SFAI, to 330 active students at Universitas Sumatera Utara who are not from the health faculty. The validity of the questionnaire was tested by examining the Corrected Item-Total Correlation (r count) values and comparing them to the table values. Items were considered valid if their r count values were greater than the r table values. The reliability of the questionnaire was measured using Cronbach’s Alpha, which indicated that the SFAI was reliable with a coefficient of 0.703.Based on the criteria for scoring, the SFAI was deemed reliable since its Cronbach’s alpha value was above 0.70 and fell within the acceptable reliability category. The study concluded that the Indonesian version of the SFAI, based on digital technology, is a valid and reliable tool for screening TMJ disorders.en_US
