Perencanaan Instalasi Pengolahan Air Minum di Kawasan Industri Kuala Tanjung dan Sekitarnya Kabupaten Batu Bara

Abstract

The condition of clean water services in Batu Bara Regency still does not meet the level of clean water demand, so efforts are needed to develop a clean water distribution system by making a plan for a drinking water treatment installation (IPA). The raw water source used comes from the Tanjung River. The results obtained show that the Tanjung River has several parameters that exceed quality standards, namely suspended residue, BOD5, COD, phosphate, iron (Fe), lead (Pb), free chlorine (Cl2), fecal coliform, and total coliform. The total water demand in Batu Bara Regency with a 20 year projection is 4,112,300 liters/day with a processing water discharge of 0.0714 m3/s. The water treatment process used consists of intake building, pre-sedimentation, coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, disinfection and reservoir.
