An assessment of the existing drainage channels on Jalan Captain Rahmad Buddin, Medan Marelan District, was carried out to identify the efficiency of the drainage system in handling rainwater flow and its impact on inundation and flooding in the area. This research uses measurements of channel dimensions, as well as analysis of rainfall data as a basis for evaluating the capacity of existing drainage channels. The evaluation results show that most of the drainage channels in this area are not optimal in channeling rainwater, which is caused by sedimentation, as well as a lack of routine maintenance. The impact of this condition is the occurrence of waterlogging and increasing the risk of flooding in the area. Based on these findings, it is recommended to repair and increase the capacity of drainage channels to reduce the potential for flooding and improve the drainage system as a whole. It is hoped that this research can provide input for the authorities in designing effective solutions to overcome drainage problems on Jalan Captain Rahmad Buddin, Medan Marelan District.en_US
