Employee retention is not only crucial for a company’s future but also reflects how valued employees feel as company assets. This study examines the effect of career development on employee retention, with talent management as a moderating variable. A total of 110 participants currently employed at Indonesian Oil Palm Research Institute were selected using a stratified random sampling method. The data was then analyzed using SmartPLS 4 application. The analysis results indicated that career development was found to have a positive and significant effect on employee retention. Furthermore, talent management strengthened the relationship between career development and employee retention. These findings suggest that companies can enhance employee retention by investing in career development programs and reinforcing their talent management strategiesen_US
