Background: Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a inflammatory chronic autoimmune multisystem disease. The development of depressive syndrome psychopathology has an impact on increased mortality and decreased quality of life in SLE patients. Neutrophyl-lymphocyte ratio (NRL) is a simple and affordable inflammatory marker, that unfortunately has not been widely studied for its usefulness in predicting quality of life and depressive syndrome, particularly in SLE patients. The aim of this study is to analyze the relationship between NRL and quality of life with depressive syndrome in SLE patients. Method: This cross-sectional study involved as many 80 SLE patients. Depressive syndrome was assessed by PHQ-9 questionnaire, quality of life was assessed by WHOQOL-BREF, and NRL was obtained through routine hematology examination. Results: Median age was 32 (18-61) years, median of illness duration was 36 months (10 - 204 months). Most subjects were high school graduates (75%), unemployed (67.5%), and married (53.8%). Increase RNL and quality of life were proportionally correlated with depressive syndrome (r respectively: 0.438 and -6.04, p <0.05). Conclusion: The study indicate that inflammatory status and quality of life may influence depressive syndrome in SLE patients. This study provides new insights into the role of inflammation and quality of life in SLE patients and suggests the need for further research to explore interventions that may target inflammation as a therapeutic strategyen_US
