Self-motivation plays a crucial role in supporting the success of drug rehabilitation. Drug abusers with high self-motivation tend to exhibit a positive response in following rehabilitation programs. A strong self-motivation enables drug abusers to complete the rehabilitation process more effectively. Social rehabilitation also demonstrates that behavioral and lifestyle changes among drug abusers can be achieved through a comprehensive and sustainable approach, with self-motivation being a key factor in success. This study aims to identify the self-motivation of drug abusers and their success in undergoing social rehabilitation at Sentra Insyaf Medan, using a descriptive design with a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 67 individuals selected through purposive sampling, with a questionnaire as the research instrument. The results showed that the majority of drug abusers at Sentra Insyaf Medan had a very high level of self-motivation (52 respondents or 77.6%), and their success in undergoing social rehabilitation was also categorized as very high (60 respondents or 89.6%). Future research is expected to develop effective intervention models to further enhance the self-motivation of drug abusers.
