    Abstract
Crystal guava plant (P. guajava L.) is one of the species of the Myrtaceae family that has potential allelopathic properties. This study aims to test the antioxidant bioactivity, determine the SPF value of sunscreen preparations and isolate pure compounds from ethyl acetate extract of crystal guava leaves (P. guajava L.). Crystal guava leaf powder (P. guajava L.) as much as 2400 g was macerated using methanol solvent to produce 107.33 g of methanol extract, followed by partition with ethyl acetate and n-hexane to produce 90.21 g of ethyl acetate extract and 24.73 grams of n-hexane. Phytochemical screening was carried out to produce methanol extract containing alkaloids, phenolics, flavonoids, saponins and tannins; ethyl acetate extraction contained alkaloids, phenolics, flavonoids, steroids, terpenoids and tannins; and n-hexane extraction positively contained alkaloids, terpenoids, and steroids. Determination of phenolic content of ethyl acetate extract obtained TPC value of 916.4 mg GAE/g. Antioxidant activity using DPPH method (1,1 diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl) with UV-vis spectrophotometer (maximum wavelength 440 nm) with positive control comparison of vitamin C and ethyl acetate extract each with IC50 value of 3.98 and 9.59 ppm. The activity of sunscreen cream preparation on ethyl acetate extract was carried out by formulating extract concentration in cream preparation starting from 0%; 2.5%; 5% and 7.5% resulting in SPF value obtained sequentially are 33.874; 35.951; 36.670; and 37.984. The activity of sunscreen cream preparations on ethyl acetate extract was tested for physical properties starting from determining pH, organoleptic, spreading power showed that all concentrations met the requirements determined by SNI. The results of the spectrum analysis that had been carried out could be concluded that the pure compound obtained was a benzoic acid compound derived from phenolic compounds, namely Bis (2-ethylhexyl) -benzene-1,2-dicarboxylate.
