Karakterisasi Morfo-Agronomi dan Kandungan Nutrisi Padi Gogo Lokal (Oryza Sativa L.) asal Kabupaten Padang Lawas
Morpho-agronomic Characterization and Nutritional Content of Local Upland Rice (Oryza sativa L.) from Padang Lawas Regency
Abstract
Upland rice is one of the dryland rice cultivars that play an important role in the Indonesian agricultural system. However, currently local upland rice germplasm is almost extinct due to the use of national superior varieties. This study aims to characterize, determine the advantages and disadvantages of morphological characters, agronomy and nutritional content and kinship of 8 upland rice cultivars from Padang Lawas Regency. This research was conducted in the Gauze House of the Faculty of Agriculture and in the Central Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra with an altitude of ± 25 meters above sea level from March to November 2024. This research was conducted with 2 methods, namely descriptive methods and experimental methods. The descriptive method was carried out by deliberate sampling of 3 sample plants / cultivars and the experimental method was carried out by direct observation in the laboratory and analyzed with simple statistics. Character identification was carried out with the guidance of the system of characterization and evaluation of rice plants by IRRI translation 2003. The results showed that the qualitative, quantitative and nutritional characters on the results of morpho-agronomic characterization and nutritional content of 8 local upland rice cultivars from Padang Lawas Regency have diverse properties. The same characters include leaf surface, stigma color, stamen color, presence of lemma palea hair, grain length, grain width, flowering age, harvest age, plant height and total tillers. Local upland rice cultivars from Padang Lawas Regency have superior characteristics such as stem angle, leaf angle, flag leaf angle upright criteria in 7 cultivars, panicle length criteria very long in 7 cultivars, grain length criteria very long in all cultivars, grain width criteria wide in all cultivars, seed thickness criteria medium in Sidingkit and Siluka cultivars, the number of productive tillers criteria very much in 5 cultivars, The total number of tillers is very high in all cultivars, the total number of grains per plant is high in Sikak (Black) cultivar, the 1000-grain weight is heavy in Sidingkit and Siluka cultivars, the rice husk is purple in Sikak (Black), Sikak (Green), Sidawat and Sidingkit cultivars, the protein content is high in Siranting Tolang and Sidingkit cultivars, and the anthocyanin content is high in Sikak (Green) and Sidingkit cultivars. Simiak and Siluka cultivars are similar in 37 out of 52 qualitative and quantitative parameters. Sikak (Black) cultivar is the most similar cultivar out of 7 cultivars.
