The Level of Knowledge of the Faculty of Agriculture students, University of North Sumatera, Batch 2020 about the use of sunscreen
Abstract
Background. The phenomenon of global warming increases the urgency of
protection for humans to avoid the negative effects of exposure to Ultraviolet (UV)
radiation. The depletion of the ozone layer can cause skin damage to the molecular
level which then increases the thickening and aging of the skin, to the possibility of
skin cancer in humans. Sunscreen can provide protection from the effects of
radiation caused by UV rays. In the use of sunscreen, the term SPF (Sun Protecting
Factor) is also known which is a reflection of how long UVA and UVB can provide
radiation to human skin. The low level of one's knowledge about the adverse effects
of UV exposure is a factor in the occurrence of skin cancer in humans. Purpose.
