Research on the reproductive biology of squid (Uroteuthis sp.) caught in the waters of the Malacca Strait, Belawan, North Sumatra, aims to determine the growth and reproductive biology aspects of squid (Uroteuthis sp.) caught in the waters of the Malacca Strait, Belawan, North Sumatra. This research was carried out from January to March 2024. The number of squid (Uroteuthis chinensis) samples was 148 with a total length of 210-950 mm and a total weight of 44-850 grams. Meanwhile, there are 132 squid (Uroteuthis duvaucelii) with a total length of 144-640 mm and a total bbpt of 44-784 grams. The allometric growth pattern of squid (Uroteuthis sp.) is negative with condition factor values classified as flat with a range of 0.225-3.113 in squid (U. chinensis) and 0.418-5.044 in squid (U. duvaucelii). Based on the growth of the von Bertalanffy equation, male squid (U. chinensis) (L∞ and K) is 950 mm and 0.88 mm/year, while female squid (U. chinensis) (L∞ and K) is 615 .6 mm and 0.87 mm/year. In squid (U. duvaucelii) males (L∞ and K) are 397 mm and 0.69 mm/year, while squid (U. duvaucelii) females (L∞ and K) are 629.5 mm and 1 .4 mm/year. For female squid (Uroteuthis sp.), the value is Lc>Lm, while for males, the value is Lc<Lm, which indicates that the female squid (Uroteuthis sp.) is still worth catching, while the male squid (Uroteuthis sp.) is not worth catching. The reproduction of squid (Uroteuthis sp.) shows that the sex ratio is unbalanced, namely 1:0.59 and 1:1.86, but the stock in the waters is still considered ideal. The gonad maturity level of squid (Uroteuthis sp.) is at TKG I-V stages, with the IKG value in line with the increase in TKG. Egg fecundity ranges from 1,918−52,786 with a total spawner spawning pattern.en_US
