This research describes the categorization and original meaning of idioms with the word roha in the Toba Batak language. The data used in this research are written data and relevant books. Data collection was done by listening and recording method. This research uses the theory of Natural Semantic Metalanguange (NSM). The categorization of idioms is determined by grouping lexical items based on their semantic components in the original meaning device. From this study it was found that idioms with the word roha are categorized into four, namely: FEEL, DO, THINK, and SAY. The category of FEEL pololizes with HAPPEN the examples of idioms are sega roha, hansit roha, las roha and DO the examples of idioms are pear roha, ginjang roha, lambok roha. The category DO polysemous with THINK examples of idioms are mampar roha, patalu roha, and marroha-roha. The category of THINK pololizes with SEE the examples of idioms are pos roha, gomos roha and roha hepeng and the category of SAY pololizes with HAPPEN the examples of idioms are dos roha and marsiboan roha.
