dc.description.abstract | PISA 2022 study's results show that the mathematical proficiency of students in Indonesia is at level 1a, which means that students are only able to solve simple problems but have not been able to think creatively to solve problems. Mathematical proficiency is the ability to understand and apply mathematical reasoning effectively to solve problems. One of the factors that influence students' math ability is parental involvement. This study aims to determine the role of parental involvement on mathematics proficiency in students in Indonesia based on PISA 2022 data. This study uses quantitative research methods using secondary data with stratified proportional random sampling technique by PISA 2022. The sample in the study was 13,439 students in Indonesia, the measuring instrument in this study used a student questionnaire that had previously been designed by PISA. The data analysis method used in this study is simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that parental involvement plays a significant role on mathematics proficiency in students in Indonesia with a contribution of 1.5% (R square=0,015) while the remaining 98.5% is influenced by other factors. The implication is that the results of this study provide information about the effect of parental involvement on students’ mathematical proficiency in Indonesia based on PISA 2022 data, which can be utilized by schools, parents, and policy makers to understand the current conditions. | en_US |
