Analisis Fluktuasi dan Elastisitas Transmisi Harga Telur Ayam Ras di Kota Medan

Abstract

The production of purebred chicken eggs in North Sumatra Province experiences price fluctuations every year. It can be said that the production of purebred chicken eggs in North Sumatra Province is not yet stable, which is caused by market mechanisms whose changes are in the form of increases or decreases in the price value of purebred chicken eggs themselves. This research aims to analyze the daily price of purebred chicken eggs and to analyze the elasticity of the transmission of the daily price of purebred chicken eggs in Medan City in 2023 using the coefficient of variation (KK) and simple regression using secondary data in the form of daily price data for purebred chickens in 2023. Research results shows that in 2023 the Diversity Coefficient (KK) throughout 2023 is included in the low altitude category, namely KK < 5%. This shows that the price of purebred chicken eggs in Medan City in 2023 is relatively stable, although there are some small variations in certain months which are still within reasonable limits. Price transmission from producers to consumers in the third market in Medan City shows an inelastic nature (ET < 1) and is statistically significant (Sig < 0.05). This shows that price changes at the producer level have a limited influence on prices at the consumer level, with the contribution of other factors that influence price dynamics in the market.
