    Abstract
Background: Indonesia has a wealth of natural ingredients that can be utilized as traditional medicine. Lancing leaves (Solanum mauritianum Scop.) is known to be rich in flavonoid content that has potential as anti-inflammatory. Inflammation is a protective response of the body to injury. Inflammation treatment is usually done using non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) where prolonged use can cause side effects such as gastrointestinal damage. Therefore, an alternative treatment with minimal side effects using natural ingredients is needed. Objective: This study aims to determine the differences in total flavonoid content and anti-inflammatory activity in vitro from extract of lancing leaves using different solvents which are n-hexane, ethyl acetate, ethanol. Methods: The extraction maceration process using different solvents then each extract is tested for total flavonoid content using the colorimetric method with AlCl3 and sodium acetate reagents, and tested for anti-inflammatory activity using the protein denaturation inhibition method. Results: The results of total flavonoid content are n-hexane extract 26,3563±0,0940 mgQE/g, ethyl acetate extract 53,0364±0,3927 mgQE/g, ethanol extract 64,9097±0,1185 mgQE/g; the results of anti-inflammatory activity are n-hexane extract with an IC50 value of 119,7881 µg/mL, ethyl acetate extract with an IC50 value of 100,8619 µg/mL, ethanol extract with an IC50 value of 83,6499 µg/mL. Conclusion: There are differences of total flavonoid content from each extract of lancing leaves where the highest total flavonoid content is found in ethanol extract, and extract with the strongest anti-inflammatory activity is ethanol extract with IC50 value of 83,6499 µg/mL.
