dc.description.abstract | Consumer reviews are a powerful tool of influence that can determine the success or failure of a culinary business. However, these reviews may not be entirely honest or hoaxes, which can potentially cause losses for business actors. Indonesia itself does not yet have regulations that specifically protect business actors who receive negative reviews that are hoaxes. The issues that arise are how the rules for providing reviews on social media, how to protect business actors related to hoax reviews, and how dispute resolution efforts can be made by these business actors.
The research method used in this study is the Normative Juridical research
method using primary and secondary legal research materials. This study uses a statute approach with a legal basis referring to Law Number 8 of 1999 concerning Consumer Protection and Law Number 1 of 2024 concerning the Second
Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2008 concerning Information and Electronic Transactions.
To protect business actors from the impact of false negative reviews, it is
important to emphasize honesty and openness in providing reviews, in accordance with the provisions of the ITE Law. Legal protection for business actors who are harmed by false reviews has not been specifically regulated, but several rules in the UUPK and the Civil Code can be used. Business actors have the option of resolving disputes through non-litigation channels such as mediation or negotiation, as well as litigation channels by filing a lawsuit for compensation and rehabilitation of good name. | en_US |
