Uji Berbagai Diameter Puli pada Alat Pengiris Wortel (Daucus carota L.)
Test Of Various Pulley Diameters on Carot Slicer (Daucus carota L.)
Abstract
Carrots (Daucus carota L.) are a widely consumed vegetable, known for
their diverse advantages, which include serving as an ingredient in food, a source
of medicinal benefits, and a primary component in cosmetic production. In many
households, the process of slicing carrots is still predominantly performed by hand,
leading to extended durations for slicing. The introduction of a carrot slicer aims
to assist users in efficiently slicing carrots. This research aimed to identify the
optimal pulley size by assessing the effective capacity of the device, the yield, the
proportion of poorly sliced materials, and a financial evaluation of the equipment.
Findings indicated that the most effective capacity achieved by the tool was 68.45
Kg/hour. The highest yield recorded was 96.5%, while the share of materials that
were inadequately sliced was 3.5%. Economic analysis results showed a BEP at
Rp360,072 Kg/year, a NPV of Rp 106,925,411.1 annually, and an IRR of 42.71%,
indicating that this machine is a sound investment due to its profitability.
