    Abstract
In Indonesia, soybean is a commonly used commodity. Its affordable price and ease of cultivation make soybeans popular. Therefore, various soybean products are processed, including tempeh, tofu and soy sauce. Indonesia is home to various types of soybeans. The test was carried out on soybeans soaked for 12 hours, after which the soaked soybeans were put into a soybean epidermis peeling and breaking machine. This study aims to test variations in the diameter of 2-inch, 3-inch, and 4-inch pulleys on a soybean epidermis breaking and peeling tool to influence the parameters of the effective capacity of the tool, yield, percentage of material left behind, and electric power consumption. The results of this study resulted in a variation of 2-inch pulley diameter producing the highest effective capacity of the tool which is 631.81kg/hour and the lowest pulley size of 3-inch pulley diameter 487.16 kg/hour. The highest yield was obtained with a 2-inch pulley size of 255.25%, and the lowest was on a pulley with a 4-inch diameter size of 181.25%. The highest percentage of material left behind is obtained with a 3inch diameter pulley size with a value of 12.83%, and the smallest at a size of 2 inches is 4.5%. The highest electrical power consumption was obtained with a 2inch diameter pulley size of 326.77 watts, and the lowest at a 3-inch pulley size of 303.30 watts. This tool has a Break Even Point (BEP) worth 19.063 kg/year, net present value (NPV) of Rp. 220,392,888.93/year from 5% NPV interest rate and Rp. 209,491,834/year from 6% NPV interest rate, and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) reached 26.21%.
