dc.description.abstractWork accidents in general have several types, each job produces a different level of risk of work accidents starting from the lack of maximum supervision and in the application of K3, Types of hazards in the workplace such as chemical hazards, physical hazards, ergonomic hazards, biological hazards, psychological hazards that must always be watched out for when doing work. So as much as possible, you have to be very careful with the contents of the laboratory, from the tools to the materials used during the formulation period because the level of risk is very high. The general purpose of this study is to identify potential chemical hazards and their impact on laboratory worker accidents at PT Jampalan Baru Tanjung Balai in 2024. This research is a univariate research. The objects in this study include the chemicals used by workers in the formulation in the laboratory of PT Jampalan Baru, the use of chemicals used by workers in 6 laboratory workers in the form of Sodium Hydroxide, Cocamidropyl Betaine, Linear Benzene Sulfonate. By identifying the methods and use of chemicals used by workers in the laboratory and the impact of chemicals on work accidents in laboratory workers of PT. Jampalan Baru by way of observation. The results of the study show that the potential danger of the use of chemicals in the laboratory of PT. Jampalan Baru is broken and falling work tools, negligent behavior of laboratory workers such as wiping their eyes when contaminated with chemicals on the palms, not using complete PPE, the use of irritating chemicals. The impact of chemical hazards is irritation to the skin of the palms characterized by reddened and itchy skin, eye irritation characterized by watery eyes and stinging, irritation of the skin of the soles of the feet on the surface of the skin marked by dry and reddened skin and peeling.en_US
