dc.description.abstract | Isolation and identification of flavonoid compounds from the leaves of MB beans (M. bracteata DC. ex Kurz) had been carried out through maceration extraction with methanol solvent. The methanol extracted was concentrated, then the concentrated methanol extract was dissolved in ethyl acetate, evaporated and concentrated. The concentrated extract of ethyl acetate was dissolved in methanol and partition extracted with n-hexane. The methanol layer is evaporated until all the methanol has evaporated. The concentrated methanol extract was analyzed by TLC, then separated by column chromatography with silica gel as the stationary phase and chloroform:methanol by comparison 90:10, 80:20, 70: 30, 60:40, 50:50 (v/v) as the mobile phase. The pure compound obtained was a yellow amorphous solid, mass 6,5 mg with Rf 0,51 using chloroform:methanol with variation 80:20 (v/v). Based on UV-Vis spectroscopy analysis with methanol solvent, it shows that there are two absorption peaks with wavelengths (λmax) of 346 nm and 267 nm. The FT-IR spectrum shows the presence of asymmetric O-H, C-H sp3, symmetric C-H sp3, C=O ketone, C=C aromatics, C-H, C-O and C-H sp2 groups respectively at the wave number 3412,08; 2924,09; 1649,14; 1458,18; 1409,96; 1211,30; 723,31 cm-1 . Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance Spectrum (1H-NMR) shows the presence of H-3’, H-5’,H-2’, H-6’ protons, and methoxy protons. Spectroscopic data shows that the isolated compound is a flavonoid compound of the flavonol group. | en_US |
