Analisis Tingkat Pengetahuan, Sikap dan Tindakan Pengelolaan Sampah pada Siswa SDN 060857 dan SDN 060858 Kecamatan Medan Tembung Tahun 2024

Abstract

The global waste problem has not been resolved and might worsen along with the increased amount of uncontrolled waste. Data on the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN) showed that waste management has not been done correctly and is less consistent. There are no separate trash bins located in each class observed at SDN 060857 and SDN 060858. There is also no fixed schedule on waste collection as there is no policy on it at schools. This study was done to analyze the level of knowledge, attitude and waste management action of students in SDN 060857 and SDN 060858 at Medan Tembung subdistrict in 2024. The research method used was a survey with quantitative approach, where data was collected through questionnaires followed by interview with students from both schools. The characteristics analysis showed that most students were at 6th grade with 29 students (51.8%), with mean age of 10-11 years, 41 students (73.2%), male, 32 students (57.1%), parents’ income below minimum wage with 56 students (100%), have high level of knowledge with 51 students (89.3%), positive attitude, 56 students (100%), and poor attitude with 30 students (53.6%) that routinely done the waste management. These findings pointed out that improvement for education program on waste management at schools is required, along with activities that could encourage students to participate more actively in waste management.
