The former Final Waste Disposal Site Namo Bintang Deli Serdang North Sumatra if
left unmanaged will pollute the surrounding environment. Therefore, various efforts
are made to reduce negative waste from the pile of waste. This study aims to analyze
the growth of Sengon (P. falcataria) seedlings in the soil planting medium of TPA
Namo Bintang Deli Serdang and determine the best planting media composition
treatment for the growth test of sengon (P. falcataria) seedlings. The research method
used is a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments, namely T0 = Using
100% TPA soil, T1 = Using 80% TPA soil + 20% Top soil, T2 = Using 70% TPA soil
+ 30% Top soil, T3 = Using 80% TPA soil + 20% Charcoal, and T4 = Using 70%
TPA soil + 30% Charcoal, with 5 replications. The results showed that the treatments
T0, T1, T3, and T4 did not significantly affect the height, diameter, dry weight of the
crown and the ratio of the crown (NIA) of sengon plants, but the T2 treatment
significantly affected the dry weight of the roots of sengon plants. And the best
treatment was T2 where the highest dry weight of the roots was different from the
treatments T0, T1, T3, and T4 in sengon plants. The use of 70% TPA Land + 30% Top
Soil in this study is recommended because it can increase the growth of sengon plants
in the nursery.
