Potensi Sumber Pakan Lebah di Desa Durin Tonggal Kecamatan Pancur Batu Kabupaten Deli Serdang
Potential Sources of Bee Feed in Durin Tonggal Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency
Abstract
Non-timber Forest Products (NTFPs) are forest products that most closely relate
to the interests of communities around the forest in meeting their daily needs. One
type of NTFP that has high economic value is honey bees. Durin Tonggal Village
has great potential for cultivating honey bees because it has many bee feed plants.
This research aims to identify potential feed sources for honey bees and create a
flowering calendar for nectar and pollen producing plants as a feed source for
honey bees in Durin Tonggal Village. The method used in this research is the
observation method, namely the circle method with a radius of 500 meters on
agroforestry land which is observed with a village area of 837.6 Ha, where this
research stage consists of data collection, namely using primary data, secondary
data and data analysis. The results of this research obtained 31 types of plants
that have the potential to be a food source for honey bees in the three agricultural
land locations observed, of which there were 21 types of agricultural plants, 4
types of forestry plants, and 6 types of ornamental plants/wild grasses. This plant
is a flowering plant that has varying flowering seasons, some flowering all year
round and some flowering seasonally. There are 18 types that flower all year
round and 13 types that flower seasonally. The diversity of bee feed plants in
Durin Tonggal Village really supports the plan to cultivate honey bees.
