Hubungan Tingkat Kebisingan dengan Gangguan Pendengaran Akibat Bising pada Petugas Ground Handling Bandara Kualanamu

Abstract

Introduction: Airport ground handling personnel are exposed to high noise levels from aircraft activity, which can lead to noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), resulting in decreased quality of life and productivity Methods: This study employs an observational analytical design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consists of ground handling personnel at Kualanamu Airport who are exposed to noise and are under the age of 50. Noise levels were measured using a sound level meter, while NIHL was detected using the calibrated Interacoustics audiometer AD528. Results: Using the Kruskal-Wallis test, a relationship was found between noise levels and NIHL. Out of 23 workers exposed to a noise level of 95 dB, 16 individuals (69.6%) were found to have NIHL. Meanwhile, among 5 workers exposed to 100 dB of noise, 4 individuals (80%) experienced NIHL (p<0.001). Conclusions: There is a significant relationship between noise levels and NIHL among airport ground handling personnel.
