Candida albicans is a fungus that causes oral candidiasis or oral thrush. The way to treat oral thrush is to use antifungals. Basil leaves (Ocinum basilicum L.) have antifungal substances in the form of essential oils, flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, and phenols. The aim of the research was to determine the inhibition zone, minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) and minimum kill concentration (KBM) of basil leaf extract against Candida albicans from oral thrush sufferers at concentrations of 12,5%, 25%, 37,5% and 50%. The method used was laboratory experimental with a post test only control group design. Determination of the inhibition zone using the standard Kirby Bauer blank disk diffusion method was measured using digital slide calipers, while the KHM and KBM dilution methods were used to determine the level of turbidity and clarity. Basil leaves were extracted using the maceration method, grouped into 4 treatments and 4 replications. Analysis of inhibition zone diameter data using the Kruskal Wallis test followed by the Mann Whitney test, then the number of colonies using the Oneway Anova test followed by the Post Hoc Least Significance Difference (LSD) test to determine significant differences in each concentration. The research results showed that the average diameter of the inhibition zone at concentrations of 12,5%, 25%, 37,5% and 50% was 0 mm, 10,56 mm, 13,31 mm and 21,63 mm. Minimum Inhibitory Concentration Value (MIC) at a concentration of 25%. Minimum Kill Rate (KBM) at a concentration of 50%. The conclusion is that there is significant potential for basil leaf extract on the growth of Candida albicans with a significance value (p=0.000), the diameter of the strongest inhibitory zone with a concentration of 50% has an average diameter of 21,63 mm, the higher the concentration, the potency of the extract will increase.en_US
