Perbedaan Kepadatan Tulang Interdental Posterior Mandibula pada Penderita dan Bukan Penderita Diabetes Melitus Tipe 2 Pria Suku Batak Ditinjau dari Radiografi Panoramik
Differences in Mandibular Posterior Interdental Bone Density in Patients and Non-sufferers of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus in Batak Men as Measured by Panoramic Radiography.
Abstract
Trabecular bone density in the mandible can be measured using panoramic radiographs. The occurrence of decreased bone density is often associated with systemic disease, namely diabetes mellitus (DM). The purpose of this study was to determine the difference in mandibular posterior interdental bone density in patients with and without type 2 DM (T2DM) of Batak tribe men in terms of panoramic radiographs. by using purposive sampling technique, 30 sampleswere observed and measured bone density using image J software. After the data were obtained, univariate and bivariate tests were carried out because the data were normally distributed, then continued using the independent T-test. The results of this study are the average value of interdental bone thickness P1-P2, P2-M1, and M1-M2 in men with T2DM of 120.961; 128.343; 134.811. The average interdental bone thickness values of P1-P2, P2-M1, and M1-M2 in men without T2DM were 142.492; 143.800; 149.991. The conclusion of this study is that the average value of posterior interdental bone density of the left and right mandible in the group of patients with T2DM is 127.245 ± 11.478 and in the group of non-sufferers of T2DM is 145.328 ± 11.026. Batak men with T2DM had significantly different mandibular posterior interdental bone density compared to those without.
