Perbandingan Efektivitas Pasta Kalsium Fosfat Ekstrak Udang Rebon dengan Konsentrasi 50% dan 75% sebagai Bahan Alternatif Perawatan Direct Pulp Capping
Effectiveness Comparison of Calcium Phosphate Paste Extract Rebon Shrimp With 50% And 75% Concentration as Alternative Material of Direct Pulp Capping Treatment.
Abstract
Caries is a dental health problem that is widely experienced in both developing
and developed countries. Untreated caries could lead into causing a damage to the
hard tissue of teeth which will start from the surface of the teeth and extend to the pulp.
Caries that has irritated and extended to the pulp will need a direct pulp capping
treatment.
Materials of direct pulp capping that are widely used until today are mostly
synthetics. One of Indonesia’s natural resources that can be exploited as an alternative
material of direct pulp capping, namely rebon shrimp that are high in calcium and
phosphor. This research aims to formulate calcium phosphate paste based on rebon
shrimp extract to determine the effectiveness of rebon shrimp as direct pulp capping
material.
Calcium phosphate formula will be divided into two concentrations, namely 50%
and 75%. Data analysis was performed using One Way Anova test when data was
normally distributed. If the data was not normally distributed, the Kruskal Wallis was
used with a significant level <0,05. The score assessment of each sample is based on 5
parameters, namely inflammatory type, inflammatory expansion, odontoblast cell layer,
dentinal bridge continuity, and dentinal bridge morphology. The research showed that
calcium phosphate rebon shrimp with 75% concentration was proven could be utilized
as an alternative material of direct pulp capping.
