The maxillary sinus is the largest sinus and is the first to develop between the paranasal sinuses. The shape of the maxillary sinus resembles a pyramid, the height and width of which can be assessed using panoramic radiography. The aim of this study was to determine the average value of the height and width of the maxillary sinus of the Batak tribe based on age groups in terms of panoramic radiographs. This study was an analytical survey and cross-sectional design with 120 panoramic radiograph samples. Data analysis used the ANOVA test. The results of the study showed that the mean values for the right and left high maxillary sinus heights were group 1 (26.00 ± 2.84 mm) and (25.39 ± 3.05 mm), group 2 (33.51 ± 4.45 mm) and (32.48 ± 3.30 mm), group 3 (32.82 ± 4.52 mm) and (32.14 ± 3.92 mm), group 4 (36.20 ± 3.58 mm) and (36 .02 ± 4.25 mm), group 5 (34.01 ± 3.64 mm) and (34.76 ± 4.25 mm), group 6 (35.23 ± 4.10 mm) and (36.50 ± 3.76mm). The mean values for the width of the right and left high maxillary sinuses were group 1 (25.47 ± 2.02 mm) and (26.90 ± 3.06 mm), group 2 (26.57 ± 2.35 mm) and (26, 37 ± 2.09 mm), group 3 (27.66 ± 3.32 mm) and (27.34 ± 3.30 mm), group 4 (27.42 ± 1.81 mm) and (35.36 ± 3.85 mm), group 5 (35.97 ± 3.96 mm) and (35.36 ± 3.85 mm), group 6 (42.64 ± 7.25 mm) and (42.93 ± 7, 56mm). The conclusion of this study is that there are differences in the height and width of the maxillary sinus of the Batak tribe based on age groups as seen from panoramic radiographs.
