dc.description.abstract | This study examines deixis in Bagus Sumartono's short movie Tilik from a
pragmatic perspective. The objectives of this research are to describe the types
and structures of deixis found in the film. Using a qualitative descriptive
approach, data was collected and analyzed by understanding the conversations
between the speakers in the film. The data collection method employed was
observation. Data analysis was conducted using pragmatic matching with the
technique of identifying determining elements.
The results show that there are three types of deixis found in the short
movie Tilik: person deixis, time deixis, and discourse deixis. These three types of
deixis are then further divided into several subcategories. Person deixis has six
subcategories: First-person singular aku, kulo, tak, saya, -ku, second-person
singular Njenengan, kowe, -mu, second-person singular kinship terms Bu, Yu,
Mbak, second-person singular title terms Bu Lurah, Pak Polisi, second-person
plural Do, Njenengan, and third-person singular De e/deweke, -ne,-e. Time deixis
has three subcategories: Present time Saiki, future time Ngko, Sek, and past time
Mau, Mbiyen. Discourse deixis is divided into four subcategories: Deictic words
indicating place and person Mriki, Kene, Kono, Kui, deictic words indicating
source Soko, deictic words indicating place Neng ngarep, and deictic words
indicating place names Rumah Sakit, Desa. The structure of Javanese deixis in the
short movie Tilik has four types of structures, including: the combination of
person deixis and time deixis Aku Mau, the combination of person deixis and
discourse deixis Aku Ki, Kowe Ki, Njenengan Ki, the combination of time deixis
and discourse deixis Saiki Ki, Mbiyen Kae, and the combination of discourse
deixis and time deixis Niki Mau, Kui Mau, Mriki Riyen. | en_US |
