Abstract
Hypertension is a global health problem that has an impact on increasing morbidity and mortality rates as well as the burden of health costs. One way to treat hypertension is by using complementary therapy. One of the complementary therapies that nurses often use for independent intervention in hypertension sufferers is foot massage therapy. Foot Massage is also a complementary therapy that is safe and easy to administer and has the effect of increasing circulation, removing metabolic waste, reducing pain, relaxing muscles, providing a sense of comfort to patients and improving sleep quality. The purpose of writing this senior practical is to provide nursing care to hypertensive patients with the intervention of Foot Massage Techniques in the Mahogany Meranti Room at Prof. Hospital. Dr. Chairuddin Panusunan Lubis. This senior practical writing is in the form of a case study involving 2 elderly hypertensive patients at the Prof Dr Chairuddin Panusunan Hospital, University of North Sumatra. The results of implementing nursing care carried out by caring for patients for 3 consecutive days are able to reduce blood pressure and reduce the pain felt by the patient.
