| dc.description.abstract | Smoking is a major risk factor for chronic diseases that can lead to death. Smoking behavior is detrimental, not only to the smoker but also to those around them, who are exposed to twice the risk compared to active smokers. Cigarette smoke contains 4,000 harmful chemicals, 43 of which are carcinogenic (cancer-causing). This study aims to determine the relationship between peer relationships and smoking behavior among adolescents at SMK PAB-5 Klambir V Kebun. The research design used is quantitative with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was 125 individuals, with a sample size of 95 individuals selected through purposive sampling. Data collection was conducted using a questionnaire. Data processing included editing, coding, scoring, and tabulating, with analysis using the Spearman's rho test and a p-value < 0.05. The results of this study indicate a significant relationship between peer relationships and smoking behavior among adolescents at SMK PAB-5 Klambir V Kebun, with a p-value of 0.479, indicating Ha is accepted. Specifically, 98.9% of participants felt supported by their peers, and 66.3% exhibited positive smoking behavior. In conclusion, there is a relationship between peer relationships and smoking behavior among adolescents at SMK PAB-5 Klambir V Kebun. | en_US |
