This research uses quas- experimenalt design with single goup pretest-posttest design approach. The research uses a sample size of 64 respondents, taken by using probability sampling techniue with simple random sampling method. The results of this research show that the mean blood sugar level decreases to 244.05 mg/dL (SD =98.062); and the mean score of respondents self-care increases to 33.05 (SD = 5.125) after receiving the intervention. Data analysis uses the Wilcoxon test with statistical test results for blood sugar levels with P value 0.000 (<0.05), Paired Samples T-test test with statistical test results for self-care scores obtaining P value of 0.000 (0.05). There is a significant effect of DSME on blood sugar levels and self-care of DM sufferer at Puskesmas Klambir V Kebun Village.
