CTPS (Washing hands with Soap) is a hygienic action aimed at cleaning hands and breaking the link of parasites. Correct CTPS is very important to prevent the entry of dirt, parasites, bacteria, and viruses, which are the carriers of disease, into the body. Being elementary school children is a period of varied changes in their growth and development that eventually influence their characteristics and personalities. The objective of this research is to examine hand washing practices among students of SD PAB 1 Klumpang, Hamparan Perak Sub-district. The research uses a descriptive quantitative design with a cross sectional approach. The population consists of 266 students, with 73 of them are used as the samples, selected using probability sampling, with simple random sampling and stratified random sampling techniques. The data are analyzed using univariate analysis. The results of the research show that 44 respondents (60.3%) have poor hand washing practices, which is attributed to the fact that most of them are around six years old, male,and still in grades 1,2, and 3.
