Abstract

Patient safety is a way to prevent, avoid, and relieve patients from injuries that should not or potentially occur during health services. The implementation of patient safety is certainly related to the supervision and direction functions carried out by nurse managers to ensure that safety protocols have been implemented by all nurses. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the supervisory and directive functions of nurse managers with the implementation of patient safety in the Special Department Technical Implementation Unit (UPTD) of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Psychiatric Hospital. This research design is used cross-sectional which is included in the type of observational quantitative research. The population in this study was 148 executive nurses who served in the Special UPTD of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Psychiatric Hospital. Determination of the number of samples using the Slovin formula and the number of samples is 108 people. The Data Sampling is using proportional sampling technique. The data collection process uses an instrument in the form of a questionnaire. The Data Analysis is using Chi-Square statistical correlation. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the supervision and direction functions had been carried out well by nurse managers. The implementation of patient safety has been carried out by the nurses well and there is a relationship between the supervision and direction function with the implementation of patient safety in the Special UPTD of Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Psychiatric Hospital.
