Abstract

The optimal implementation of managerial functions of the head of the room is one of the factors that improve the quality of nursing services. The purpose of this study was to determine how much influence the implementation of the managerial functions of the head of the room (planning, organizing, directing and supervising) on quality nursing service. This research design uses Quantitative with a simple linear regression test approach. The population in this study were all executive nurses who performed nursing services in the psychiatric polyclinic room, emergency room and inpatient room. The sampling technique used was total sampling of 123 respondents. The results showed that there was an effect of the implementation of the managerial function of the head of the room on the quality of nursing services (p value 0.000 <0.005). In Prof. Dr. Ildrem Medan Mental Hospital, managerial functions and service quality are categorized as good in the inpatient room, sufficient in the emergency department and less in the psychiatric polyclinic. The conclusion is that the higher the implementation of managerial functions carried out by the head of the room, the better the quality of nursing services. Recommendations need to be made to increase the competence of the head of the room in the implementation of managerial functions and make a policy to conduct an eligibility test to become the head of the room and evaluate the performance of the head of the room.
