    Abstract
    Background: Infectious diseases are still one of the important public health issues, especially in developing countries. The low level of public knowledge and attitudes about antibiotics can lead to antibiotic resistance. Resistance to antibiotics is that the drug is not able to kill germs or the germs become resistant to the drug. Objective: This research was determine the knowledge, attitudes and use of antibiotics and to find out the influence of sociodemographic factors on people's knowledge and attitudes about antibiotics in Babalan Sub-District, Pangkalan Brandan. Method: This research was a cross-sectional descriptive research method with Snowball Sampling techniques. Data was collected through filling out the modified Rahmayanti (2013) questionnaire. The data was analyzed descriptively to see the percentage, then a Chi-square test was carried out to see the relationship between sociodemographic factors and the level of public knowledge and attitudes about antibiotics. Results: The results showed that the level of public knowledge about antibiotics was relatively low and the respondents' attitudes about antibiotics were relatively good. From 218 respondents, 207 respondents bought antibiotics and received information on how to use them. Based on the Chi-square test, there was no difference between the sociodemographics of respondents and the level of knowledge about antibiotics. There was no difference between the sociodemographics of respondents and the level of attitudes about antibiotics. Conclusion: The majority of Babalan Sub-District Pangkalan Brandan community's level of knowledge about antibiotics was classified as poor. The attitude of the people of Pangkalan Brandan regarding antibiotics is classified as good.
