Abstract

Background: Records management is a crucial part of the administration of an educational institution, including the University of North Sumatra (USU) Library. With the development of technology, conventional records management systems are often unable to accommodate the dynamic and efficient needs of information management. Objective: This research aims to find out the technology-based dynamic archive management system at the University of North Sumatra Library, with the hope of increasing insight as well as efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of archive information. Therefore, the application of a technology-based archive management system is very important to improve the quality of service and archive management in libraries. Methods: The method used in this research is descriptive, with a case study approach at the University of North Sumatra Library. This research was conducted by interviewing and direct observation at the University of North Sumatra Library. Results: The results of this observation show that overall, the implementation of a digital archive management system in the USU Library has proven its success in improving the effectiveness of dynamic archive management. Good integration between AMPAS creates an administrative system that is more structured, efficient, and in line with the demands of the digital era. This success can serve as a model for the development of similar systems in other educational institutions. The Technology-Based Dynamic Archive Management System at the University of North Sumatra Library is carried out using the Archive Management Application (AMPAS) which was specifically created for the internal library of the University of North Sumatra. Conclusion: The implementation of a technology-based dynamic archive management system in the University of North Sumatra Library has proven to be effective in improving the existing archive management system. The use of technology in archive management can speed up the management process, reduce errors, and increase user satisfaction.
