dc.description.abstractThe architecture of traditional Japanese houses reflects a harmonious integration of culture, aesthetics and philosophy that has evolved over centuries. This paper aims to examine the style and spatial design of traditional Japanese houses, focusing on the distinctive architectural elements and design principles used. This paper uses the library research method, which is a method that is derived from reading as information. Some architectural styles such as Sukiya-zukuri, which emphasises simplicity and beauty. Shoin-zukuri is a combination of formality and functionality. Minka folk houses that adapt to the rural environment, written to understand the characteristics and uniqueness of each. It also explores important concepts such as wabi-sabi, which emphasises beauty in imperfection and impermanence. It refers to the use of space and intervals to create balance and harmony. It also explores the interaction between interior and exterior spaces, using natural materials such as wood and paper. The importance of openness and flexibility in spatial planning is emphasised. The results of this work are expected to provide an in-depth insight into the cultural values reflected. Japanese traditional house architecture and its relevance in the context of modern sustainable architecture.en_US
