Factors that Influence Students' Interest in Becoming Agricultural Entrepreneurs (Case: Students from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra)
Abstract
The decline in the interest of the younger generation in working in the
agricultural sector is at quite an alarming level. One way to increase the number
of agricultural sector workers is to become agricultural entrepreneurs. The aim of
this research is to analyze the influence of entrepreneurial education, capital and
fear of failure (Fear of Failure) on Student interest to become agricultural
entrepreneurs at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra. This
research uses a quantitative approach. The sampling technique uses
proportionate started random sampling so that the uneven distribution of samples
for each study program can be taken proportionally according to the
requirements of the research object. The data analysis method used is the multiple
linear regression analysis method with SPSS 22 tools. The research results show
that simultaneously, entrepreneurial knowledge, capital and fear of failure have a
significant effect on students' interest in choosing agricultural entrepreneurship.
Meanwhile, partially, fear of failure has a significant influence on students'
interest in becoming agricultural entrepreneurs.
