Testing the Effectiveness of Several Vegetable Pesticides in Attacks of the Sangit Walang Pest (Leptocorisa oratorius) on Upland Rice Plants (Oryza sativa L.)
Abstract
This research aims to test the effectiveness of several vegetable pesticides in
attacks by pests such as the palm tree pest (Leptocorisa oratorius) on upland rice
plants (Oryza sativa L.). This research was carried out in the Greenhouse of the
Agrotechnology Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, University of North Sumatra
from March to July 2023. The experimental method was experimental in the field
with a non-factorial completely randomized design (CRD) using 4 treatments, namely
Control (P1), Tembelekan leaf vegetable pesticide (P1), Babandotan leaf vegetable
pesticide (P2) and rubber seed vegetable pesticide were repeated 4 times. The results
of this research show that plant-based pesticides can control pest attack on rice plants,
then plant-based pesticides such as tembelekan (P1) and babandotan (P2) show
emphasis on the pest population, the intensity of pest attacks is highest so that
production yields are high and vegetable pesticides are effective in controlling the
population of grasshoppers. paddy.
