Perancangan Model Pembangkit Photovoltaic Terintegrasi dengan Grid Menggunakan Software DIgSILENT
Design of a Photovoltaic Power Plant Model Integrated with the Grid Using DIgSILENT Software
Abstract
In an effort to reduce dependence on fossil fuels and maintain environmental sustainability, the utilization of renewable energy sources has become a necessity. Photovoltaic technology is one solution that harnesses solar energy to generate electricity. This study aims to model and simulate a photovoltaic power generation system integrated with the electrical grid and equipped with a battery-based energy storage system, in order to meet the electricity needs of the Transmission and Distribution Laboratory, Department of Electrical Engineering, University of Sumatera Utara. The system modeling and simulation were carried out using DIGSILENT PowerFactory software. Based on the simulation results, a 10.8 kWp PV system combined with a 10 kW battery was found to be the optimal solution to meet the laboratory's electricity demand. The implementation of this system is projected to save electricity costs by IDR 600,000 per month and reduce carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions by 693 kg per month. This study demonstrates that a grid-integrated photovoltaic system with battery storage is an efficient and environmentally friendly energy solution for laboratory-scale applications.
