Test of Absorption Refrigeration System Storage Room for Several Agricultural Materials
Abstract
Agricultural materials are susceptible to damage. To reduce the risk of damage, action needs to be taken, one of which is the storage process. Transportation is ongoing storage, because shrinkage often occurs during transportation, it is necessary to control the temperature during the transportation process. Cooling is a process of controlling temperature by lowering the temperature, one of which is used is the absorption cycle. The absorption refrigeration system is considered more economical because the compressor is replaced with a generator and absorber. This research aims to determine the effect of several varieties of agricultural products, weight of agricultural products and time on the performance of agricultural product storage space with an absorption refrigeration system. In this research, a method was carried out using a factorial completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of three factors. The results of the research show that the largest decrease in cooling room temperature was at a weight of 2 Kg with an average temperature of 9.31 oC. The largest decrease in cooling room temperature was at 180 minutes with an average temperature of 10.24oC. The lowest cooling load is at 2 Kg with an average of 6.15 watts. The lowest cooling load was at 60 minutes with an average of 6.59 watts. The highest COP value was at a weight of 2 Kg with an average of 10.80. The highest COP value was at 60 minutes with an average of 12.00. So it can be concluded that the variety of agricultural products, weight of agricultural products and time have a significant effect on the performance of agricultural product storage space with an absorption refrigeration system.
