dc.description.abstractNowadays, home security system design makes use of internet and mobile services. Both of these services have their own advantages and disadvantages. In this research, the design of a remote home condition monitoring prototype is carried out which can monitor the condition of the house if the owner is not at home. Technological advances in the field of wireless communication support the design. The main devices in this research are PIR (Passive Infrared Receiver) sensor, magnetic sensor and Arduino microprocessor. If a moving object is detected and the door is broken down, the buzzer will turn on as well as a notification will be sent to the homeowner via a wireless network through the whatsapp application and sms (short message service). From the tests carried out, it is obtained that the designed tool has worked properly. The PIR sensor can detect objects within a maximum distance of 100 cm. The distance of the magnetic sensor chip in order to activate the microprocessor when the door is broken down is at least 2 cm. At this distance the buzzer will sound and a notification will be sent to the homeowner. Delay sending notifications via sms in an average time of 1,851 seconds and via whatsapp in an average time of 478.6 mseconds. Both deliveries are without packet loss.en_US
