dc.description.abstract | One of the main forms of energy needed for electrical equipment is electrical
energy. The potential for hydropower in Indonesia is 75 GW, mostly spread across
Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan and Papua. Bah-Biak Waterfall is a potential for
hydropower located in Sidamanik District, Simalungun Regency, North Sumatra, this
waterfall has a fairly stable flow. Therefore, this water flow can be used to generate
electricity, with output power ranging from tens to thousands of watts, depending on the
water flow, head and generating technology. The Bah-Biak waterfall is one of the tourist
attractions in Sidamanik, so there are places for residents to sell that are not provided with
lighting because they are difficult to reach. Therefore, this research is expected to be able
to help residents in lighting their selling places. Hydroelectric power plant pico hydro with
the turbine method turgo which is used directly in the waterfall flow aims to utilize the
limited energy potential of water so that it can produce electricity by application in the
waterfall flow, which can be used to illuminate the area around the waterfall tourist
attraction. Based on the test results, distance results were obtained Nozzle 20 cm, the
generator rotational speed is 964,4 RPM, the voltage value is 13,8 V and the current
generated is 1,21 A. Meanwhile, at a distance Nozzle 60 cm, the generator rotation speed
was 876,8 RPM, the voltage value was 13,35 V and the current generated was 0.92 A. The
highest power generated by a pico hydro power plant with a turbine turgo with distance
Nozzle 20 cm water discharge 23L, namely 19,86 watts | en_US |
