dc.description.abstractUtilization of water for irrigation is technically an effort to bring in water by making buildings and channels to drain water for agricultural purposes, distributing water to rice fields and fields regularly and in sufficient quantities. Based on this, the purpose of this research is to analyze the planning of primary irrigation canal dimensions, especially in the Sei Wampu left Irrigation Area. The location of this research is in the Left Sei Wampu Irrigation Area located in Langkat Regency with a service area of 3,832 ha. Data collection is done by obtaining secondary data from relevant agencies. The method used refers to the Irrigation Planning Criteria. Based on the results of the analysis of irrigation water demand with rice-paddy-paddy cropping pattern and January-May-September cropping period, the maximum water demand in MT I is 2,641 ltr/dt/ha, MT II is 2,143 ltr/dt/ha and MT III is 2,164 ltr/dt/ha. The dimensions of the primary channel at the beginning of the planning are trapezoidal with a channel base width of 4.4 m and a hydraulic height of 1.49 m. Based on the analysis, the dimensions of the primary channel are trapezoidal. Based on the results of the analysis, the dimensions of the primary channel are trapezoidal with a width of 4 m and a hydraulic height of 1.33 m.en_US
