    Abstract
    The role and function of air transportation services are very important for Indonesia, both in terms of the economy, governance, and national unity, due to the various advantages they offer, such as time efficiency and a wider reach. Therefore, airlines are required to provide high-quality service with a high level of punctuality. However, as the aviation business continues to grow, airlines have neglected the quality of their service, leading to issues such as sudden flight schedule changes. The issues discussed in this thesis are how legal protection is provided for passengers who do not receive information regarding flight schedule changes at PT. Lion Mentari Airlines Pekanbaru, the form of responsibility of PT. Lion Mentari Airlines Pekanbaru for the losses suffered by passengers due to sudden flight schedule changes, and the resolution mechanisms pursued for the losses arising from sudden flight schedule changes. The writing of this thesis uses the normative-empiricalresearch method through direct interviews with PT. Lion Mentari Airlines Pekanbaru as primary data, and this research is descriptive in nature. The data collection technique is literature study, followed by qualitative data analysis. The research results show that legal protection for passengers who do not receive information regarding sudden flight schedule changes is provided in the form of preventive legal protection, which includes legal regulations governing passengers' rights to obtain accurate and clear information. Repressive legal protection is carried out through compensation provided by PT. Lion Mentari Airlines, filing lawsuits, and imposing sanctions by the government. The form of responsibility provided by PT. Lion Mentari Airlines Pekanbaru includes the refund of the entire ticket cost or rescheduling the flight to the next available time. However, the implementation of that responsibility has not been maximally carried out. The mechanisms for resolution that can be pursued through legal action include alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, negotiation, as well as through the Consumer Dispute Settlement Board (BPSK) and legal action through the court system. (litigation).
