The Implementation of The Family Hope Program (PKH) in Efforts to Improve The Welfare of The Community in Gunung Baringin Village, Mandailing Natal Regency
Abstract
Poverty is one of the main barriers to development in developing countries, including Indonesia. To address this issue, Indonesia launched the Family Hope Program (PKH), which aims to reduce poverty by providing cash assistance to poor families, with the hope of improving their quality of life through education and health sectors. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Family Hope Program (PKH) in Gunung Baringin Village, Mandailing Natal Regency. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a descriptive analysis to explore and describe the implementation of the Family Hope Program. Data collection techniques include interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings show that the implementation of PKH has several key indicators, namely communication, resources, disposition, and bureaucracy structure. Overall, PKH in Gunung Baringin Village has made a significant contribution to improving the welfare of poor communities. However, to enhance the effectiveness of the program, improvements are needed in socialization, capacity building of implementing officers, and coordination between the central and local governments to ensure that the assistance is well-targeted and produces sustainable impacts.
